Here is the first draft of questions we would like to ask homeschool graduates…

What’s your story?

• What was it like growing up as a homeschooler?
• What were you like as a homeschooler?
• How did you react to homeschooling then?
• How did your transition from homeschool to living on your own go?
• Did your homeschool experience adequately prepare you for living on your own?
• Do you see homeschooling as something that was beneficial or detrimental to you as an individual?
• Would you homeschool your children?
• What were your parents reasons for homeschooling?
• What is your relationship to your parents like?
• Do you think homeschooling has given you a closer relationship with your parents now that you’re an adult?
• How was relationship during your formative years?
• What would you say to parents who are thinking about homeschooling their children?
• What are the main three things that you took away from being homeschooled?

Introduction

Welcome to OurHomeschoolStory.com, as a homeschool alumni I get frequently asked about my experience with home education, I share my story by one story can’t convey the diversity of “homeschooling”. I have also had the opportunity over the years to meet and talk with many other alumni, all homeschooled, all with a different story.

So, this website is the first step in creating a documentary to share these stories. I have been asked “Will it be positive?” well that depends on the story. Some people (like myself) have had very positive homeschooling experiences, others have had very bad experiences, sometimes siblings have completely different stories. This documentary will attempt to share the full spectrum of the homeschool experience.
