Introduction
Welcome to OurHomeschoolStory.com, as a homeschool alumni I get frequently asked about my experience with home education, I share my story by one story can’t convey the diversity of “homeschooling”. I have also had the opportunity over the years to meet and talk with many other alumni, all homeschooled, all with a different story.
So, this website is the first step in creating a documentary to share these stories. I have been asked “Will it be positive?” well that depends on the story. Some people (like myself) have had very positive homeschooling experiences, others have had very bad experiences, sometimes siblings have completely different stories. This documentary will attempt to share the full spectrum of the homeschool experience.

Hey Ethan,
I like the idea. Just chronicling where homeschool graduates have come from should be a boon for future homeschoolers and perhaps help the public face of homeschooling. I would be potentially interested in helping and/or writing my own story if you would like. When you say documentary are you considering a traditional film documentary or planning an internet/text based format? I see merits in both but primarily dictated by what your goals are and who your audience is. Anyway, I like the idea and let me know as you need help and I will do what I can.

I like this idea. Homeschooling is still so new, relatively, that there haven’t been many objective looks at the outcome. My personal experience was by far more positive than negative, but it wasn’t perfect. One of the things that worries me most about the future of the movement is the resistance to any criticism, even if it’s from the inside and intended to be constructive, but projects like this might help. I’ll be interested to see where this goes.
